Geoffrey’s Hike to Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Lafayette (Geoffrey)

I hiked Mt. Lincoln and Lafayette with my Dad.  On the way up there were waterfalls that were water was flowing over the granite!  We had to walk on the waterfalls sometimes.  That was fun!

The hike up to Haystack was hard.  We stopped at Shinning Rock.  The goecache was stolen!!  That made me sad.

There is a good view. Maybe I’ll jump?

We finished the hike up the trail to Little Haystack.  It was crowded.  We had lunch there.

Then we were off to Mt. Lincoln.  The hike there was easy.  The trail was kind of flat.  The views were great.  You can see Mt. Washington, Cannon and Owl’s Head from there.

On my way to Mt. Lincoln!

Then we were on Mt. Lincoln!  This is my first 5000′ footer!  I felt great!

I’m going to go into that cloud!

We had summit snacks!  Then we were off to Mt. Lafayette!  It went down then back up!

Let’s catch that guy!

Then we were on top of Mt. Lafayette!  This was my second 5000′ footer today!  More summit snacks there and pictures!

The cairn is taller than me, but I’m taller than you because I’m on a mountain!

Then we walked down to the hut.  We ate some brownies and ad lemonade.  Dad bought me a hut patch there!

I’m at the hut and you are not.  Mmmmmm brownie

Then we walked down to the parking lot.  It was very hot.  Daddy poured water over my head a couple of times.

I’m at the bottom!

We played in the water after the hike.  The water was refreshing.  My pants got wet.

Wet foot

Then we found a geocache.  Then we had dinner and desert!  It was a medium fun day!

Peppermint ice cream!
My tongue is stuck to the ice cream… (Dad’s note: peppermint stick ice cream is awful but G loves it)
